Cherry Cake Recipe
1 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon lemon flavouring
3 cups sifted Flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup red cherries
3/4 cup green cherries
Cream butter and sugar. Add unbeaten eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flavouring. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together three times and add them to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk; combine thoroughly. Add cherries.
Bake in a greased and lined 10-inch pan (which is 3 inches deep). Have oven at 300@ F. and bake for 2 hours.
