The Clarenville Shrine-Masonic Center was the first building to be shared by both the shriners and the masons in North America. The old railway station building was bought by the Shriners from the Clarenville Town Council for a nominal fee. It was then taken on as a conservation project when they outgrew their former building and realized that the old train station was probably doomed to demolition if someone didn't step in to give it a new lease on life. Now the building serves not only as a Shrine-Masonic Center but is also home to the Clarenville Historic Society. |

The Clarenville Area SPCA, a registered charity since 1989, is responsible for servicing a large part of eastern Newfoundland including the Bonavista Peninsula. While we are affiliated with the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies and the Newfoundland and Labrador SPCA, we also work closely with other shelters, rescue groups, and agencies concerned with animal welfare to provide the best level of protection for animals. |
