250 grams of oat (steel-cut OR instant)
200 grams of brown sugar (dark, preferably)
1 egg
100 grams of white (caster/granulated) sugar
3 tablespoons of molasses
220 grams of butter
100 grams flour.
2 teaspoons of baking powder
In a bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and the brown sugar. When the mixture is mixed right good, like a paste, mix in the oats and flour. Lightly mix together. Add the egg next, then stir it in until it’s goodly blended. Now, add the molasses and mix it again. The last step is to add 2 teaspoons of baking powder then mix that.
Preheat the oven to 176 Celsius, 350 degrees Fahrenheit, on older stoves gas mark 4. Check after 10 minutes, then check every five minutes after until they’re finished.
