Rum Sauce Recipe #1:

  • 3 round cups brown sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 oz dark rum
  • corn starch to thicken.

Mix all ingredients together (except rum), cook for 5 minutes until thick and clear then add rum before serving.

Rum Sauce Recipe #2:

  • 1 cups brown sugar
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tbs salt
  • 2.5 tbs corn starch
  • 1 oz dark rum (or more)

Mix sugar, corn starch and salt, gradually add water and cook for 5 minutes until thick and clear. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Add rum before serving

  1. so I’m thinking that while making the second rum sauce you drink the rum while making the sauce because it doesn’t say to add it! This is the recipe for me!!! lol, Merry Christmas to you and your family.
